Subdued
...for now...
but when I please
I will—with ease—
make my arrival loud and known.
A gentle and low simmer
...to start...
but like the fire I am
I grow quickly to consume
your being entire
your thoughts, to obsess
Screaming, demanding
I force your submission
Unrelenting
Subdue me you must, for I shall not
be ignored
Never ignored
Your utter attention is required
in quenching me
Your strength—the last of it—
will you use to bring me
once again
to calm
Only when you have nearly blacked
will I depart and subside
abated and
once again
subdued.
...for now...
